Viewpoints Network, a social technology and media company, has announced the launch of its new Post-Purchase Email Service for the Viewpoints Technology Platform (VTP), a hosted social commerce technology solution for leading brands, retailers and media companies. According to the company, the turnkey solution allows VTP partners to trigger a targeted email to their recent online buyers that asks them to write a review of the product they’ve just purchased. With Post-Purchase Email, retailers now have a simple solution to engage with an active customer group to encourage their participation and drive increased SEO-rich review content for their site.
 
"User reviews should be an integral part of any e-commerce site, but the key to a successful reviews strategy is making it easy for consumers to contribute," said Matt Moog, president and CEO of Viewpoints Network. "Incorporating the Post-Purchase Email Service into a retailer’s total reviews lifecycle helps to increase engagement and traffic by driving valuable search-friendly reviews that have been solicited when a purchase is still fresh in the consumer’s mind. And, these reviews are especially valuable to a retailer because they come from verified buyers who have just experienced the product."
 
As part of the service, retailers can trigger up to three post-purchase emails—including an initial email after the consumer makes a purchase and two additional emails for non-responders—and can configure each to be sent in a specific time period. To better facilitate response, the email creative includes embedded product images and links back to products on the retailer’s e-commerce site.
 
Viewpoints Network handles all aspects of the email, including targeting, creative, and opt-out management. In addition, Viewpoints helps retailers maximize responsiveness and review conversion by developing promotions based on its own best practices for messaging, layout and timing.
