Mobile marketing company Street Savings announced two new closed-loop mobile couponing and loyalty rewards products — Street Savings Mobile Coupons and Mobile Rewards. The products allow merchants to send customers coupons and reward program offers via text messages that can be redeemed using point of sale (POS) and credit card terminals that are readily available.
"By tying the mobile transaction to the existing payments terminals, we have solved the problem of mobile coupon and rewards redemption, enabling merchants to track campaign success and move closer to a mobile payments environment," said Pal Flagg, COO of Street Savings.
The company said that it has worked with hardware vendors, as well as gift and loyalty processors, to develop a processing environment that uses the same POS terminals that most merchants are already using. Additionally, Street Savings said the system will transition to new NFC-enabled systems as well.
According to the announcement, Street Savings is already working with independent agents in 23 states to sign merchants to its new system.
