The kitchen and bath specialty store Fixtures Living is going big on the "try before you buy" approach.
Specializing in fixtures and appliances for indoor and outdoor kitchens, laundry rooms and bathrooms, Fixtures Living boasts that its showrooms allow customers to try out their potential purchases ahead of time, much like one would test drive a car at a dealership, an article on utsandiego.com reported.
"San Diego was our venture into trying to reshape the industry in how these types of products are exposed to the consumer, and we learned a great deal from Miramar," said CEO Jeffery Sears. "Imagine yourself trying to buy a new shower head but you have no idea how it will feel like or what the water flow is like. You could take a salt bath, a mud bath, and you're educated in private wellness. We'll have areas of our store very similar to a spa that's called a sanctuary and you can reserve those areas."
Sears added that pricing will be competitive with the store's price-comparison policy.
"We have a program called equal value assurance," Sears said. "If there's a true price differentiation, we match that price. We're not matching a price that's incorrect or of lesser value."
