United Kingdom-based Retail Week reports that grocer Waitrose is deploying a real-time customer feedback system from Fizzback. The system will allow shoppers to give their feedback via multiple channels, including text messages, Web, e-mail and phone.

According to the report, the system "organises customer comment, pulling out information such as subject, sentiment, location and behavioural indicators, which can be used to measure performance against the retailer’s key performance indicators."

    We use both Bromley (very large) and Biggin Hill (much smaller) supermarkets. Both have first class trained staff, so helpful, pleasant and have not failed to answer our questions in several years. Well coached, informative (both young and older staff) are difficult to find elsewhere in the area. Well done! Surprisingly, the smaller branch has a more extensive stationary, magazine section which I find very useful.

    We often use the cafe in the Salisbury branch, and have noticed that there always seems to be a long queue. This is because there are customers waiting for food and also just drinks in the same queue. As there are two tills at this cafe would it not be possible to have one member of staff to deal with coffee or tea and then use the second till? This is often not 'manned'. Yesterday we waited 10 minutes for coffee!

    sadly not a perfect experience. Till and Rotisserie staff were efficient and helpful, but there were long queues at 3pm and not enough tills open. Management must keep watch and call on reserve staff and tills when queues build up, like they do in other supermarkets, for example Lidl and Tesco. Don't doubt me, send observers there to confirm

However, I do have one complaint - I bought a packet of Simmers Abernethy biscuits and was horrified when I opened the packet to find only four whole biscuits out of the whole lot.
