A new service from Seattle-based Mercent is aiming to strengthen the relationship between retailers and Pinterest.
Mercent Retail for Pinterest is a data delivery software service that populates Pinterest pins with current product prices, inventory and descriptions, keeping product-related information fresh and accurate as consumers pin and share products, according to a news release.
According to comScore, Pinterest now has 48.7 million users globally. With tens of millions of Pinterest users pinning products, the social sharing platform is quickly becoming a critical channel for retail shopper engagement.
"When pinners find products they love on Pinterest, they want to act," said Mercent chairman and CEO Eric Best. "Adding rich product data to Pinterest pins makes it easier to explore and buy products through Pinterest pins and creates a richer overall Pinterest experience."
