A Colorado-based ski resort chain is improving its guest experience with an innovative use of RFID technology.

According to a Computerworld story, Aspen Skiing, which operates four ski resorts, has installed RFID tags on all of its season passes and lift tickets. Those passes and tickets now also serve as stored-value cards for the on-site retail shops and restaurants.

The expanded use of RFID technologies "helps us to identify our truly loyal customers," says [Paul] Major, [director of IT].
