National Business Review (New Zealand): The 2009 Global Powers Of Retailing report outlines the expected trends for retailers over the coming recessionary year. Other than the obvious, such as cutting costs and greater risk management, trends lean toward a focus on customer service and human capital management, a move to multi-channel retailing and smaller physical store footprints, a diversification in offerings and a focus on branding and supply chain analysis.
