Progressive Grocer: Ahold-owned Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. yesterday completed the rollout of its Scan It! scan-and-bag system to 50 additional stores in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, extending the handheld self-service and media delivery solution to a total of 145 Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores.

Developed by Modiv Media as part of its Modiv Shopper system, Stop & Shop's Scan It! enables shoppers to scan and bag their items while they shop, and delivers relevant coupons and promotions based on individual shopping histories.
