Reuters: Tesco has plans to open multiple-level stores, revealing a new threat to store owners like Marks and Spencer and Debenhams. "Where land is premium we will consider stacking up floors," a Tesco spokeswoman said.

Stores would have selling space of at least 60,000 square feet, about the size of a small Tesco Extra hypermarket, and would sell a mixture of food and non-food.
