A new, free social media app launched today, Dec 1st, taking shopping-and-socializing to a new level in the digital world. The ShopWith.It app promises to be a fun, practical way for consumers to share products and ask for meaningful shopping advice from people they trust – as well as verify product quality, compare pricing, and receive valuable feedback.

ShopWith.It delivers information in an entertaining way without overwhelming the holiday shopper in an already stressful season. Unlike RedLaser which only provides pricing and availability information for comparison shopping and product location, ShopWith.It integrates the engagement aspect of Facebook and visual aspect of a built-in camera to help shoppers socialize their shopping experience in real-time.

The app allows consumers to scan product barcodes or take photos, then share and discuss those products with friends and people who share similar interests or are in the same life stage. "We all want to be savvy shoppers, but often times we just can't do extensive product research in advance," said Barry Besecker, co-founder and CTO of Marxent Labs. "Spending hours reading online reviews from random people you've never met is old school -- who has time? ShopWith.It's social research platform can help quickly narrow down options and simplify shopping."

Given the countdown until Christmas and the pressure to stay on top of gift lists, holiday parties, etc., ShopWith.It will especially help the solo shopper feel like she is on a more efficient and engaging shopping trip.
