Want to connect with customers? Think mobile first. [infographic]

To say that mobile is having an impact on the way people do business is a weapons-grade understatement. As "Retail Prophet" Doug Stephens put it, "We will see more disruption in the next ten years of retail than we did in the previous one thousand."

And the disruption is already in full swing. That's why we're holding the CONNECT 2014 Mobile Innovation Summit to help retail and restaurant organizations learn to more effectively use mobile technology to engage customers.

As the infographic below (sponsored by Isis) spells out, most Americans now own a smartphone, with a higher-than-average chunk of them in the critical 18-to-29 demographic. They are using them to shop (retail revenue via smartphones rose 113 percent in 2013, while tablet revenue grew 86 percent) and eat out (83 percent use their smartphone to choose a restaurant while traveling.)

The agenda for this year's Summit takes specific aim at the worries and opportunities that are on the minds of retailers and restaurant operators.
