April 10, 2012

Best Buy Co. Chief Executive Brian Dunn resigned today, according to the Wall Street Journal. Just a few weeks ago, Dunn announced a strategy for the electronics retailer based in Richfield, Minn., to compete with online merchants such as Amazon.

The company issued a statement saying there were no disagreements between the board and Dunn, "on any matter relating to operations, financial controls, policies or procedures" but admitted "there was mutual agreement that it was time for new leadership to address the challenges that face the company."

Board member G. Mike Mikan will serve as interim CEO until a replacement is found.
