This week at Mobile World Congress, HP announced a Windows 8.1 tablet-based point-of-sale solution that it says will make it easy for small business retailers to effectively manage their business and cut operating costs.

According to a company press release, the HP TX1 POS solution gives business owners an affordable tablet-based solution that allows them to easily complete sales transactions and perform back-office tasks.

The HP TX1 combines the 10.1-inch HP ProPad 600 with a sturdy stand and essential POS accessories in one solution to complete sales transactions smoothly, the company said. The stand securely holds the tablet upright and also allows it to turn and tilt with ease to capture a customer's signature. The HP TX1 can easily detach from the stand so employees can take it home at the end of the day when needed.
