Infinite Peripherals, providers of mobile point-of-sale solutions, has announced the release of the Infinea Tab 4 for the iPad with Apple Lightning connector, which the company said offers an improved design and faster scanning capabilities.

The Infinea Tab 4 with Lightning connector adds a 1D or 2D barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader to an Apple iPad 4, enabling retail associates to checkout customers from anywhere in the store. In addition to POS, the Infinea Tab can be used for expediting inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification, lead tracking, inspection/work flow, dispatch, time/labor and lab and healthcare.

"As the first company to enable Apple products with mobile POS functionality, we're uniquely positioned to stay in lock-step with Apple's rapid product development," said IPC President Andrew Graham. "We understand the retailer perspective on mobile POS requirements, given today's tech-savvy and demanding customers, and are committed to helping them benefit from the personalized consumer shopping experience and increased revenue they achieve using Apple mobile products."
