In 2001, Purchasing Power launched with the concept of a payroll-deduction employee purchase program available as a voluntary benefit through employers. The company's first e-commerce platform was built in-house. Fast-paced growth, continuous product catalog expansion and the addition of new services such as education and vacation packages, led to the need for a scalable, feature-rich, enterprise class e-commerce platform, according to the company.
As the employee purchase program of choice for Fortune 500 companies, Purchasing Power said it must deliver solutions that meet the needs of large, complex organizations.
