Square introduces new features for Market and Register

April 29, 2014

Square has introduced new features for its Square Market and Square Register tools. Starting this week, sellers can easily post their items on MKT.COM for their customers to pre-order online or on their mobile device and pick up in the store. In addition, they can keep tabs on their stock levels from anywhere with inventory tracking and take payments even when temporarily without an Internet or cell connection with Offline Mode.

According to the company, the new Square Market pickup tool integrates perfectly with Square Register, so sellers can fulfill customer orders in person and online. The pickup tool is available to all sellers at an 8 percent processing fee per order, with an introductory rate of 2.75 percent through July 1, 2014. Access and setup are free, and sellers receive payment the next business day.

Offline Mode allows sellers to use Square’s mobile point of sale, including accepting credit card payments, while temporarily without an Internet connection. Square simply logs payment information when the seller swipes the card and saves it until a connection is reestablished.

Inventory tracking gives sellers a free tool to track their item stock when selling in person from Square Register and online from Square Market. Sellers manage inventory tracking in their web dashboard, including setting up stock alerts so they are never caught off guard by low inventory.
