But recent research shows that technology infrastructure barriers have created a significant gap between what consumers want and the in-store experience that retailers can deliver today. More than 40 percent of retailers say they are struggling to implement the required technology across all their channels, while 39 percent of consumers say they are unlikely to visit a retailer’s store if it can’t deliver on that experience, according to Forrester Research. It’s a huge disconnect.
