Holiday should be a jolly one for retailers, predicts study

October 14, 2016

Higher wages are being cited as the top reason consumers will be spending more during the upcoming holiday season.

Purchases are expected to jump 3.6 percent, according to a National Retail Federation prediction. A stronger job market is also a factor, states a Bloomberg report.

It all combines for what NRF CEO Matthew Shay states will be a "very positive holiday season," according to an announcement cited by Bloomberg.
