Advertising is a tax brands without sufficient word-of-mouth support have to pay.

This rule says that advertising can sometimes be an unnecessary cost. Focus on providing a great in-store and on-line experience for your shoppers--the kind they'll rave to their friends about--and you'll get them to do some of your marketing and advertising for you!

Advertising isn't bad. Just think of it as something that amplifies rather than replaces a good experience.
