1-800-Flowers.com has created a mint of non-fungible tokens in celebration of Mother's Day featuring two separate collections created by artists Devi Namira and Maaz Rahell.

The NFTs reflect the bond between a mother and child, according to a press release. It is the florist retailer's first step into non-fungible tokens.

"1-800-Flowers.com has a long history of innovation and always strives to be at the forefront of where consumers are going next," Jason John, CMO, said in the release. "These collections are a great way for us to test in this space as we delve into the possibilities within Web3 and gain a better understanding of our customers' interest in digital products. We're excited to officially be part of the NFT community!"

The NFTs are being minted on Polygon.

"Developing these special Mother's Day NFTs and introducing them to our customers in blockchain has been such an inspiring journey," Abi Sachdeva, CTO, said in the release. "We are at a very early stage in understanding the opportunities and challenges associated with these technologies and applications. One thing we know is that Web3 — a vision for a decentralized internet built on blockchain technology — has infinite possibilities, and we are ready to ride that wave."
