2D bar codes put marketing messages at shoppers' fingertips

The Packer:Entering a supermarket, a person is faced with thousands of choices of what to buy, pitting fruits and vegetables in the produce department not only against each other but also against food products throughout the store. But new bar codes are fighting the confusion and aiming to take advantage of the public's widespread embrace of cell phones with camera functions. 2D bar codes can be placed on print advertising, signs and product packaging/labels. They can even be displayed on a video screen.
