A look at the longest walking distances in US malls

Every wondered how long you may have walked during that last mall visit? To answer that question for mall walkers across the nation Kuru has mapped it all out.
To find the longest walking distances in U.S. malls, Kuru looked at the 10 largest malls by total square footage and mapped a consistent walking pattern through each one and factored in the number of levels to calculate how far you'd really walk, according to apress release. Kuru provides footwear technology designed to relieve foot pain.
Most of these malls pack in 6,000 steps or more—at the American Dream or Del Amo, consumers could easily cover the distance of a 10K without ever stepping outside.
To calculate walking distances, Kuru started with the 13 largest malls in the U.S., ranked by total square footage (according to Wikipedia). From there, it applied the official walking distance reported by Mall of America, then used that same walking pattern as a baseline for the other malls on the list.
