Aldi to open 100 new U.S. stores in 2008

The Wichita Eagle: Aldi, the Germany-based discount grocery chain, is launching an aggressive U.S. growth plan. No specifics are in place, but company spokeswoman Tina-Marie Adams said it plans 100 new stores in 2008. It's part of the company's move to open between 70 and 100 new stores a year to join its existing 900 stores from Kansas to the East Coast.
