Alphabet drone service nears 100K deliveries in Australia

Wing, a drone company operated by Alphabet, is getting close to the 100,000 item delivery mark in Australia.

The service has delivered 10,000 coffees, 1,700 snacks and 1,200 roast chickens to residents in Logan, according to a CNBC report. It is the first drone service that achieved a stamp of approval from the FAA and is also operating in Finland.

Wing, whch launched two years ago, went into operation after testing in 2014 and allows residents to order food and other items via an app. It is currently partnering with 30 companies, including Walgreens, and at least one educational district.
