Just about a week after it was announced Dave Clark was leaving his role as Amazon's worldwide consumer leader come July 1, Clark has been tapped as CEO for supply chain software start-up Flexport.
His official first day on the job is Sept. 1, according to a CNBC report. Flexport founder and current CEO Ryan Petersen will take the role as executive chairman as of March 2023.
Clark, who worked for Amazon for more than 20 years, will also become a board member once he starts his job.
"It is for all the reasons above and countless more that I am looking forward to transitioning into the role of CEO at Flexport in September," Clark wrote in a LinkedIn post, according to the news report. "I am fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with an incredible team who are building a customer-first, rocket ship of a company focused on architecting and building solutions for the most complicated supply chain problems through world-class technology for the physical world."
