Amazon extends free same-day delivery to new metro locations

Amazon’s Prime membership feature of free same-day delivery is now an option for members in 11 new metro sites.

Amazon's Prime free same-day delivery is now an option for members in 11 new metro sites.

The service is now available for Raleigh, Nashville, Richmond, Louisville, Fresno, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Stockton, and Tucson, according to an announcement.

Orders placed in the morning, totaling over $35, will be delivered by the evening seven days a week. With the service expansion Amazon is providing the delivery option in 27 metros area encompassing 1,000 cities and towns.

"Prime was developed to make shopping on Amazon fast and convenient, and millions of members have used Prime free same-day delivery to make their lives even easier," said Greg Greeley, VP of Prime, in the announcement. "We keep making Prime better, and as our operational capabilities grow, we will continue to invent and expand delivery options that customers love."
