Amazon Fresh arrives in Maryland

Amazon has opened a first Amazon Fresh grocery store in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
It's the first Amazon Fresh to open in the state and the third to open in the D.C. region, according to a press release.
"We're thrilled to offer a new, low-priced grocery option and pleased to support the community by creating hundreds of high quality local jobs, as well as by donating surplus food from the store to local food banks," stated the release.
The store location offers Amazon Dash Cart, which enables customers to skip the checkout line, and Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate aisles. Traditional checkout lanes are also available to customers at this store.
The Chevy Chase store is the 18th Amazon Fresh store to open nationwide.
"We're excited to introduce Amazon Fresh to the Chevy Chase community. As we open our doors, customers will discover a unique checkout-free shopping experience with our Amazon Dash Cart, which offers the ultimate convenience when shopping for low-priced, high-quality foods. I'm looking forward to the positive impact this new store will have on the local area, which starts with the hundreds of good jobs we've created for the community," Amy Denner, store manager of the Chevy Chase store, said in the release.
