Amazon Fresh debuts in DC area

Amazon has opened an Amazon Fresh grocery store in Franconia, Virginia, marking the first in the greater Washington, D.C. area and the thirteenth store in the U.S.
"We look forward to serving the Franconia community and welcoming customers into our doors," Nadeem Sheikh, store manager of the new Amazon Fresh Franconia grocery store, said in a press release on the opening this week. "In addition to low prices, customers will find a broad selection of high-quality food and innovative shopping features. We're also proud that this store has created hundreds of good jobs for the local community."
The 30,000-square-foot store features Amazon Dash Cart technology for a non- checkout line experience. The store is located at 7005 C Manchester Blvd. and open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days of the week.
