Amazon.com is opening of its tenth California fulfillment center, this time in Sacramento. The new location will provide over 1,000 full-time jobs.
Employees will pick, pack, and ship.
"Our ongoing expansion in California, which started just four short years ago, is the result of two things: incredible customers and an outstanding workforce in this state," said Akash Chauhan, Amazon's VP of North American operations.
Robert MacGlashan, chair of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors positively stated in a release that "Amazon coming to Sacramento represents a big step forward as our community continues to grow. We have seen Amazon be a positive influence elsewhere in the state, and we are pleased that Amazon has chosen to invest in this region as well."
