appsbar adds digital coupon capability

July 17, 2011

In a news release, free online app-building service appsbar announced that it has added appCoupons to its app-builder wizard. This new feature allows businesses to add couponing capability to the free custom app they create at appsbar.com.

appsbar.com was launched in 2011 as a simple tool that even non-tech users could use to create and publish their own mobile app. The site's app-building wizard guides the app "developer" through the process of choosing pages, functions, fonts, colors and images, lending a personalized look and feel.

The appsCoupon option adds the capacity for the deployer of an appsbar app to create coupons in real time, specifying products or services, discount amounts and timeframes. The app notifies the mobile device user of the waiting coupon, which need not be printed, but can be presented at the time of purchase as an onscreen image, barcode or QR code.

The new couponing option joins existing appsbar business features that include calendar event notifiers, customer service surveys, real time to-go order forms and catalog ordering. appsCoupon can be added to any existing appsbar app, as well as to any new app built at appsbar.com.

"We're excited that we're able to give businesses a free way to build and publish their own professional-level apps," said appsbar co-founder Scott Hirsch in the release. "This new opportunity to eliminate the third-party hassles has given a whole new way for businesses to serve their customers."
