Predictix has announced that Best Buy has successfully deployed merchandise financial planning and item planning applications from Predictix in Mexico and China as part of a broad international rollout. Best Buy selected Predictix merchandising solutions for all of its international operations, and deployment is currently underway in the United Kingdom and Turkey.
The Predictix planning applications design supports Best Buy as the retailer accelerates its growth in the global marketplace. Predictix allows Best Buy to have a consistent, company-wide best-practices approach to planning, while maintaining the flexibility to easily configure the application to each country's local needs. The Predictix unified merchandising model also appealed to Best Buy; while the retailer's current rollouts focus on planning, other modules within the Predictix suite can quickly and easily be added as needed, providing a unified view across all merchandising decisions.
Best Buy also realized implementing traditional merchandising applications, beyond the high up-front expense of licensing and implementation, would require costly investments in data centers and IT personnel, and would take years to roll out internationally. In contrast, Predictix is suited for rapid international deployment, as it delivers enterprise-class merchandising solutions in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, with no large up-front investments.
