Black Friday tops for shopping

Black Friday will beat out Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday when it comes to consumer activity as 57% of those polled by Jungle Scout will shop Black Friday, while 43% will shop Cyber Monday and 20% will shop during Small Business Saturday.

Eighteen percent of consumer don't plan on shopping during any of the three retail shopping days, according to a press release on Jungle Scout's consumer data.
Additional findings include:

  • 59% plan to give a physical product (clothing, electronics, jewelry, etc.) compared to 65% in 2021.
  • 49% plan to give a gift card compared to 65% in 2021.
  • 29% plan to give a virtual product (Netflix or Spotify subscription, virtual gym membership or Masterclass membership) compared to 27% in 2021.
  • 23% plan to give physical product delivery/subscription-box services (Blue Apron, book-of-the-month club, beauty box) compared to 22% in 2021.
  • 56% search for deals/discounts.
  • 40% like to surprise the recipients with gifts they didn't ask for or expect to receive.
  • 28% tend to shop for specific brands.
  • 19% buy gifts based on ideas they get from social media.
