Carol Glaser, chief merchandising officer and executive VP for Bob's Discount Furniture, has been named to the 2023 Top Women in Retail list created by the Women in Retail Leadership Circle organization.
The report features female executives who have made a positive impact in the retail industry through tenacity, vulnerability, authenticity and hard work, according to a press release. The 13th edition of the report focuses exclusively on c-suite leaders and company founders.
"Carol is an accomplished executive with a track record of success in the furniture and home goods industries," Bill Barton, president and CEO of Bob's Discount Furniture, said in the release. "She has a great talent for understanding furniture to make it more enjoyable, cozy and creative. Carol led her team through unprecedented obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic, including manufacturing closures and supply chain restrictions with great success and we congratulate her on this achievement."
As chief merchandising officer, Glaser oversees all decisions related to Bob's products and her responsibilities run from setting strategy to sourcing to sell-through.
WIRLC honorees were chosen by the organization's members, partners and editorial staff based on their position, scope of responsibility, accomplishments and achievements, and involvement in the retail industry. This year's honorees include Maureen Kelly, founder and CEO, Tarte Cosmetics; Tricia Smith, global CEO, Anthropologie; Kathy Reardon, EVP and chief people officer, Dollar General; Shawn Outler, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, Macy's; Prama Bhatt, chief digital officer, Ulta Beauty; among others.
