British consumers like phone most when it comes to customer support

When it comes to customer support in the U.K., consumers like the traditional phone call compared to email and 69% will dial first before trying another assistance channel.

One reason is that nearly half, 45%, view the phone support as superior to other contact methods.

Those are top findings from research from communications services provider Gamma Communications.

The data also revealed 80% would continue shopping with a small to medium size business that offers superior phone customer service, according to a press release on the findings.

Almost half of those polled, 46%, value phone calls because they feel better understood when communicating verbally and 45% believe the support and customer service via the phone is of higher quality in comparison to other contact methods.
