Charleys testing Walmart locations

Charleys Philly Steaks launched a pilot test with Walmart Tuesday when it opened inside a Walmart in Columbus, Ohio.

The design of the restaurant, at 3900 Morse Rd., centers around not only food but fun family experiences, including arcade games and whimsical design elements, according to a company press release.

"Guests can take a selfie with a giant grill spatula, which may be the world's largest, or be mesmerized by our giant doodle wall," Brian Hipsher, CMO at Charleys Philly Steaks, said in the release. "It's all about having a little fun and taking a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy day."

Charleys, founded in 1986, has plans to add 10 more Walmart locations next year.

The chain has over 600 locations in 47 states and 16 countries.
