Checkpoint Systems launches online training for retail store operations

Checkpoint Systems, Inc., a global supplier of shrink management, merchandise visibility and apparel labeling solutions for the retail industry and its supply chain, has launched Checkpoint Academy, an on-line training school designed to help retailers maximize the effectiveness of their in-store loss prevention investments.

 Checkpoint Academy's goal is to drive best practices and increase returns on retailers' security and operational investments, through modular and interactive web-based training for store associates. The company delivers the training within the work environment.

Using a combination of audio and visual aids, Checkpoint Academy training is delivered through easy-to-follow content explained in simple and relevant terms. Video scenarios and accompanying narration ensure that users are engaged. The scored training helps store and human resources managers identify areas that require additional support.

The first module available is "Maintaining EAS Effectiveness." With retail theft costing the industry billions annually, it is not only essential for retailers to implement world-class EAS technology but also to ensure that the staff is well trained to effectively interact with it.

The module promotes good in-store EAS compliance and demonstrates how positive interaction with EAS not only reduces theft, but also increases sales opportunities and improves the customer-shopping experience.
