Consumer confidence dipped moderately in January though consumers are thinking of buying homes, cars and appliances, according to a Conference Board survey.
"While consumer confidence dipped this month, consumers generally have faith in the strength of this recovery," Robert Frick, corporate economist with Navy Federal Credit Union in Vienna, Virginia, stated in a Reuters report.
The consumer confidence index dipped to 113.8 from December's 115.2.
