A majority, 80%, of Americans are worried about shipping issues and fraud incidents this holiday season and a good number are also shopping early for gifts.

Those are top findings from a survey released by Logate regarding 2021 holiday shopping behavior.

Just about half of U.S. shoppers plan to do in-store and online shopping, and late deliveries are a concern for 87% of consumers. Nearly half, 41%, are unlikely to purchase again from a retailer that delivers a late package, according to a press release on the survey findings.

"In the age of digitization and ongoing global supply chain and shipping disruptions, this holiday season is shaping up to be the year that will make or break many retailers," Matthew Furneaux, global commercial director at Loqate, said in the release. "At the same time, retailers have an enormous opportunity to build customer trust and loyalty by minimizing risks and delivering on rising expectations for shopping flexibility and delivery reliability."
