Costco sues Trump over tariffs citing overreach

Costco has sued the Trump administration claiming President Donald Trump exceeded executive authoring in enacting tariffs and misused the International Emergency Economic Power s Act.

The suit states the wholesaler should get a refund if the tariffs are found to be unconstitutional, according to a report at The Guardian.

"IEEPA grants the president certain power, but they 'may only be exercised to deal with an unusual and extraordinary threat with respect to which a national emergency has been declared for purposes of this chapter and may not be exercised for any other purposes'," Costco stated in the lawsuit, according to the news report.
