Express shipping provider DHL now has a mobile pop-up store at its U.S. headquarters in Plantation, Florida.
The 2,200-cubic-foot unit is the first pop-up for the company in South Florida, according to a press release.
"Over the past year, we have installed several mobile pop-up stores across the U.S., and we have seen that customers prefer the speed and convenience of the pop-up, which they can use to quickly create and send shipments without having to enter a physical store or office," Chet Paul, SVP of commercial for DHL Express U.S., said in the release. "Known as the gateway to Latin America, South Florida is an important market for international shipping and this unique model will allow us to reach even more consumers in the area."
The ServicePoint, located off Port Everglades Expressway (Interstate 595) at 1210 S. Pine Island Road, will provide local customers with more accessible options and accommodate growing international shipping needs.
It is boosted by a solar-powered system with backup batteries charged at the local service center which helps reduce energy consumption and contributes to the company's mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
DHL worked closely with Flexetail, a designer and builder of mobile shops that offers brands an opportunity to test products, explore markets and launch lines.
