Diebold Nixdorf taps payment orchestration provider to expand retail payment options

Diebold Nixdorf Inc. has partnered with Phos, a London-based provider of POS software, to allow businesses to add point-of-sale orchestration as an option to existing payment acceptance solutions, according to a press release.

The solution will enable retailers to expand their payment acceptance points without the expense of payment hardware and is also acquirer agnostic, allowing Diebold Nixdorf to launch the solution for any existing acquirer its retail customers may be using.

Retailers will be able to accept card and digital wallet payments directly on any NFC-enabled smartphone or tablet in a secure and contactless way.

Phos currently has 14 certified acquirer connections, as the fintech continues to expand globally.

Apple recently announced it will enable third-party "SoftPoS" providers to deploy their technology on iOS devices.
