Earth Fare, an organic grocery chain with 50 or so stores in the South, is going out of business but hoping to find a buyer for locations and its assets.
The news comes on the heels of similar closing by Lucky's Market and Fairway and increased competition by powerhouse Whole Foods, owned by Amazon.
Small and regional grocers are facing greater pressure, according to a CNN report that cites an analyst describing the digital food retail landscape as "challenging."
