eBay opens first pop-up store
November 24, 2009
Home Textiles Today reports this week that eBay has opened its first pop-up store, a 5,500-square-foot shop on 57th St. in Manhattan. The store allows users to purchase items on eBay from kiosks or by using the eBay iPhone app.
The store is staffed with eBay employees who offer help and advice about purchases. The store also will house several one-of-a-kind items, including items from designers and celebrities that are set to be auctioned off for charity. Charity purchases will be matched by eBay, up to $200,000.
The store will operate through Nov. 29, although it will be closed Thanksgiving Day. On Black Friday, Nov. 27, doors will open at 7 a.m.
