That next Amazon package may arrive from the sky as the Federal Aviation Administration is issuing Amazon a certificate of approval for the retailer's Prime Air drone fleet.
The FAA certificate is an "important step," Amazon told the New York Times and it will continue to test the technology approach toward attaining a delivery time of 30 minutes or less.
The retailer still must prove operational safety to the federal agency, but the FAA certificate indicates the agency's confidence, David Carbon, Prime Air vice president, told the Times.
