Fashion brand and retailer Maceoo is moving forward with brick-and-mortar store launches with plans to open six locations in several U.S. cities including Dallas and Atlanta.
The menswear brand said expansion is possible as the company was quick to anticipate COVID-19 impacts on its business model, according to a press release.
"Even during the height of the pandemic, we were already setting in motion strategies that now enable us to adapt. We've addressed verticals of our sales across retail, online and wholesale. We've negotiated flexible rents with our hotel partners (where our stores are) based on occupancy that lets us pay higher rates when the hotels are full and less if for any travel restrictions there are less people in town," CEO and designer Mehdi Raad said in the release.
The brand has been able to control manufacturing and overhead costs by taking production in-house as opposed to being vulnerable if an outside contractor were to go out of business, added the top executive.
