More than half, 51%, of U.S. consumers will shop Father's Day sales this year, with more men (57%) than women (44%) doing the gift effort.

That's a prime finding from a Smarty survey, conducted by Propeller, which also projects 69% plan to spend $100 or more and another 28% will spend over $200.

Top items for purchase will be sporting goods, smart gadgets, laptops and tablets, according to a press release on the findings.

The study polled 1,024 U.S. adults between April 24, 2021 and May 8, 2021.
