Gas prices impacting c-store consumer spend

Inflation, and specifically gas prices, are impacting consumer spend at convenience retailers, according to a study from PDI Technologies and GasBuddy.

The report also revealed that c-stores are fast becoming a retail location for consumers seeking efficiency as most shoppers spend under five minutes in a c-store, according to a press release.

Despite the short time consumers are still expecting an excellent physical experience.

"For convenience store retailers, understanding how and why consumer behavior is continually evolving is vital to keeping a business afloat," Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in the release.
