The Gen Z consumer is the mostly likely to give gifts on Father's Day this year, according to a Numerator survey of 5,500 consumers.
More than half, 65%, of U.S. consumers plan to celebrate Father's Day and 94% plan to purchase something for the event, with food, gifts and drinks as top purchases.
When it comes to gifting, the top choice is a gift card closely followed by apparel and home improvement materials, according to a release on the survey findings.
Father's Day celebrants plan to make purchases from big box stores (45%), online retailers (39%), and grocery stores (32%). A third of shoppers (34%) plan to spend between $50 and $99 on their Father's Day items. 73% said they plan to spend the same as last year.
