Furniture and electronics seller Hhgregg has filed for bankruptcy and is planning to shutter 88 stores by mid-April, which will affect 1,500 jobs.
The stores, according to a Business Insider report, have been under performing.
"We have determined that the economics of the affected locations will not allow us to achieve our overall goal of becoming a profitable company again," Robert Risebeck, CEO, said in a statement, according to BI.
The bankruptcy process, according to the Tampa Bay Times, should be completed in 60 days.
