Italian hypermarket Iper Lando pilots ZBD's epaper POP solution

June 8, 2009

MALVERN, U.K. — Iper Lando, the Italian hypermarket, has implemented ZBD's epaper for retail solution in its Conselve store in Northern Italy. Over five hundred epop (electronic point of purchase) displays have been installed within the produce, deli and fresh meat departments where they will be used to display price and product information, and in particular, provenance information, a legal requirement in Italy. Because of its zero infrastructure requirements, ZBD's epaper for retail solution was implemented within just a matter of weeks.

Lando, a family-run business, has been operating for more than forty years and has an estate of 12 stores located in North Italy. Its reputation has been built upon low prices and value for money, with a focus on high quality and fresh produce. Product information had been displayed through paper tags, but these were acknowledged to be a drain on resources — both in terms of the printing and paper, as well as actually getting members of staff to affix the revised price labels to the corresponding products in-store.

ZBD's solution proved ideal for the store with its zero infrastructure requirements and ease of implementation, combined with the ability to update pricing centrally, from the head office.
